The United States women’s national team was knocked out of the Women’s World Cup after a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat to Sweden in the round of 16 on Sunday.
Saudi Arabia’s minister of sport, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, insisted workers’ safety was being taken “seriously” and that an investigation had been launched over the death of migrant worker during construction of a stadium for the 2034 World Cup.
